– 1 teaspoon paprika

– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

– 1/2 cup beer

Preparation method

To prepare fried clams, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, salt, thyme, oregano, basil, and parsley in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients until they are thoroughly combined. Next, add the beer and mix until the batter is thick and smooth.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom. Once the oil is hot, dip the clams in the batter and carefully place them in the skillet. Fry the clams for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden and crispy. Remove the clams from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Cooking tips

When frying the clams, be sure to use a thermometer to check the temperature of the oil. The oil should be between 350-375 degrees Fahrenheit for the best results. If the oil is too hot, the clams will burn; if it is too cool, they will not cook properly.
